Federal Prison Release from Bench

Federal Prison Release from Bench. Imagine being indicted and convicted on charges of Conspiracy to distribute cocaine base; distribution of “crack”; possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Federal court. You get sentenced to 81 months of incarceration followed by three years of supervised release.

You also get arrested and convicted for an attempted murder and conspiracy to commit attempted murder in the Philadelphia, PA. You are sentenced to 5 to 10 years. You run the real risk of having both of those sentences run consecutive (meaning one after the other).

Sure enough that is what happened to a defendant. He finishes his state sentence and then gets shipped over to the Federal pen to start his other sentence. This all happens a few years ago. The defendant now client hired Philadelphia Criminal Lawyer Thomas D. Kenny to help him undo this terrible situation. Immediately, Attorney Kenny rolls up his sleeves and goes to work.

Sure enough, to the elation of the client, Attorney Kenny is able to vacate the incarceration portion of the attempted murder conviction and convert it to only probation. That by itself is a feat for any criminal defense lawyer. Next Kenny is able to procure client’s immediate release from Federal Prison since the time he spent upstate can now run towards his federal sentence.

Fast forward to current times. Federal Criminal Defense Lawyer Kenny reminds his client that they have more work to do on the Federal sentence. The client and Kenny lose touch over the years. The Federal Probation office sees clients issues a different way. Client picks up a new state charge of drinking and driving and fails many drug tests. All the while, client tells probation office that his case is over. The probation office does not believe client and then he goes to the FDC (federal detention center) to await a hearing.

Client calls up Kenny and Kenny rushes to court and explains the situation to the Court. Upon Kenny’s representations, Client is freed from the Federal bench and goes home that day.
