Ardmore is an unincorporated community in Delaware and Montgomery Counties in Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 census, Ardmore has an estimated population of 12,455 residents. Ardmore is a suburb on the west side of Philadelphia. Located partially in Lower Merion Township in Montgomery County, and partially in Haverford Township in Delaware County. Ardmore was originally named Athensville in 1853. The entire community, as well as the train station, were renamed to Ardmore 20 years later in 1873 by the Pennsylvania Railroad.
