Attorney Thomas Kenny, Esquire, of Kenny, Burns & McGill, recently represented a client who was charged with felonies relating to Accidents Involving Death stemming from the death of a pedestrian who was crossing the street back in 2022. The complaint in the matter alleged that our client was driving his vehicle when he allegedly hit a pedestrian and drove off, causing said pedestrian’s death.
Upon receiving the discovery and the evidence regarding the case, our Criminal Defense Team went to work formulating alternative defense strategies. At face value, the discovery that was provided showed that this would not be an easy case. However, while combing through the video evidence produced by the District Attorney’s Office, our team uncovered proof that not only had our client not caused the death of the pedestrian, but there was actually another party at fault. The key piece of evidence in the case was split second frames in the video that may have been otherwise overlooked if not for the due diligence of our Criminal Defense Team. Had this information not come to light, our client would have been facing up to seventeen years with a mandatory three years in custody if he had been found guilty of his charges.
After three long years of fighting the case, the majority of which our client was on House Arrest and could not leave his house, Kenny, Burns & McGill were able to get justice for our wrongfully accused client and he was able to leave the Criminal Justice Center a free man.
