Attorney Thomas Kenny, Esquire, of Kenny, Burns & McGill, recently represented ac client who was charged with F2 Aggravated Indecent Assault and additional charges stemming from an incident that took place in Bucks County in 2024. Attorney Kenny, along with the Criminal Defense Team at Kenny, Burns & McGill, worked tirelessly to review all the Commonwealth’s evidence in the case. This included investigating the validity of the evidence against our client, conducting interviews with both character and fact witnesses, and reviewing all paper discoveries and video interviews that were conducted in the case.
After a two-day jury trial in the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas in Doylestown, Attorney Kenny was successful in getting a verdict of Not Guilty from the jury for the lead charge of Aggravated Indecent Assault. Had the client been found guilty of this charge, he would have faced up to ten years in custody and would have been listed as a lifetime registrant for Megan’s Law.
Although our client was found guilty of minor charges relating to the matter, Attorney Kenny was further successful in requesting that the Judge allow our client to be placed on GPS monitoring pending sentencing. This was a big win, as the Judge had the option to revoke bail at the end of the trial and have our client placed in custody pending sentencing. Further, our client was not a Pennsylvania resident, making the Judge’s granting of the request an even bigger win, as typically out of state defendants could be considered a flight risk.
